Interactive restriction of a mobile robot’s workspace in a smart home environment
We published a new article in the current issue of the Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Smart Environments. The article “Interactive restriction of a mobile robot’s workspace in a smart home environment” answers the question of how to employ a smart home environment in the interaction process of restricting a mobile robot’s workspace. This is especially interesting due to the limited feedback capabilites of mobile robots and the requirement concerning a direct line of sight between human and robot during interaction. This work presents a solution to these drawbacks by incorporating components of a smart environment to mitigate these limitations. Experimental results show that this approach can increase the user experience and reduce the interaction time.
